I've been an active member of King County 4X4 Search & Rescue for almost 20 years. We perform
Search & Rescue operations in King County, Washington and in other Washington Counties on
request. KC4X4SAR is incorporated as a not for profit, charitable and educational corporation
and is an IRS 501(c)3 tax deductible charity.

Search and Rescue in King County is coordinated by the Sheriff's Office, however all actual SAR
is performed by volunteers. There are approximately 800 to 900 trained and certified SAR volunteers
in King County, belonging to several organizations. Each organization lends it's own special set of
skills to a SAR mission. There are no paid positions, and 100% of receipts (donations) go directly
to support Search & Rescue. A parent organization (KCSARA, or King County Search & Rescue Association)
coordinates the participation of member organizations.

Search & Rescue missions range from highly technical wilderness operations to searches for missing
dimentia patients or missing children. Many volunteers are trained for helicopter insertion/extraction
and helicopter hoist operations.
